In the game Second Life, I play the avatar Juushika Redgrave.
This outfit is an old favorite which I haven’t worn in a very long time. Horror of horrors, it even has system flairs. Both skirt and pants are from PanJen, and I love that they ride the line between sexy and cute. Also tending back to some of my old favorites, I wore them with a lovely set of pigtails from Kin. The shoes are old, well-worn favorites from Shiny Things; the bracelet another long-time wardrobe staple from ETD. Since the back was free, I also added a custom tattoo—yes, I’m geek enough to put a semicolon on my skin. Only the glasses and skin are newer items in my inventory, from Persenickety and Gala respectively. This is the sort of look which I would easily have worn around the grid a year and a half ago, and I still enjoy it now. And for the second day in a row, it’s PixelDoll free!

In the game Second Life, I play the avatar Juushika Redgrave.
Another outfit based around gifts from Express, and another outfit which I love. I started with the Zarra scarf and tried to build an outfit around it that had the same lush texture and black/brown color combination. PixelDolls is my go-to for lush; I combined two dresses to create a long-ish skirt with a high split and low back—a touch of bare skin to contrast the well-wrapped scarf. Beneath that I layered in some old freebie tights from Saya to provide color and coverage.
The hair is I presume a fairly new style from ETD (at least, I don’t recognize it) that I am head over heals for. I modded it to hide my system ears, of course, but I love the rich, tucked style of this bun. For this outfit, I traded in my usual skin for one by Gala. Gala skins don’t always suit me, but here the coloring is a perfect match and the Shea glasses from Persenickety bring out the eyes. This outfit is opulent yet comfortable, and I’m very pleased by how it came together.

I’ve been busy cleaning my inventory, dropping from 25k to 19k (it gets addicting to delete items). Since it forces me to try on clothes, this is a good combination with my attempt to wear something other than PixelDolls. This outfit is PixelDoll free: A sweater from Little Fish (which was a winter freebie, and I don’t know if it’s still available) worn with jeans from LF Fashions. I love the roomy prims of the sweater, and wore a short and spiky hairstyle to keep them visible and free; I’m fond of the contrast between comfy sweater and tomboyish hair. The shoes are some of my favorites, from Shiny Things, and the wrist band is a wardrobe staple from ETD.

In the game Second Life, I play the avatar Juushika Redgrave.
I loved my hair (from Aden) from the day before so much that I decided to wear it again, with a completely different look. I wanted something a bit more rough and masculine to contrast the thick, feminine hairstyle: A shirt from Aitui, worn with a shirt (tinted to a slight brown) from Celestial Studios to cover up the bare skin. I wore it with jeans from LF Fashions, which have a suitably sharp and slightly gritty look, and trusty strong boots from Shiny Things. The only jewelry is a wristband from ETD. I prefer to fit the art styles of clothing together, hand-drawn to hand-drawn, baked to baked, and all of these pieces share a sharp, detailed style which goes well together to create a unified final appearance.

It’s most decidedly winter where I live—we’ve had snow for the past week, Hanukkah begins tomorrow, and I just finished wrapping my Christmas gifts. In that vein I decided to put together an outfit not unlike what I wear in the winter in the real world: a long skirt, a sweater, some boots (which, sadly, are not visible). The skirt (and matching undershirt) are from Last call, and so of course retired; it’s sort of sad, really, how much I have to shorten the skirt prims for them to fit me. (Due o the skirt’s transparency, I switched my fluffy Hybrid tail for a sleeker Anisa tail to cut down on dreaded alpha flicker.) The sweater is from Nyte N’ Day, which I’ve worn once before in an altogether different look. The hidden boots are from ETD, picked up at the 30L sale. And to break from my recent string of buns, I wore my hair down today in a long style from Maitreya (which does lovely reds).

Guildford, Cathedral of The Holy Spirit
a triangle symbolises Omniscience; the all seeing divinity. The context in this piece of Flemish glass from the Alderman Fletcher collection is "The light of the body is the eye" Matt 6:22, in a triangle depicts the triune Godhead. Here it is pierced symbolising suffering, hence the tears.
A friend of mine who is an artist has included this image in one of her paintings. I think it is only a fragment of a larger piece. This device was also used on the frame of a Caspar David Friedrich painting.
On Saturday 3rd March we visited Kate Wilson’s exhibition at the cathedral. The interior of Guilford’s post war Cathedral is certainly far more inviting than its grim "Soviet" brick exterior. Kate’s pastel of the eye, was based on a piece of glass that she saw from Alderma Fletcher’s collection at Yarnton when she and her husband Simon visited us in Oxford in 2005. Kate adapted the image from this piece of glass and made this pastel from it. She also depicted Pentecost in an imaginative work based appropriately in The Cathedral of The Holy Spirit. Kate Is exhibiting some fine works in black and white (charcoal) depicting scenes portraying Jesus’ humanity, for Lent 2007.

I loved this jumper dress from Sand Shack Surf Co. when I saw it on FashCon, and picked it up pretty well immediately. Green is my favorite color, so it was the obvious choice for the dress. I paired it with the smock top in brown from Tres Blah, which I tinted a yellow/green/brown color to make it match the colors in the dress better and shortened so that it didn’t cover the open skin under the lacing on the back of the dress. I wore it with pigtails from ETD because, honest, how could I not? The flip flops, from Last Call, are a carryover from yesterday’s outfit and fit the look well.
But prior to finding the dress, I was actually leaning towards a bloody/beat up look for today… so I decided to combine the two. ^_^ The leg bandage and bloody knuckles are both from Eat Me, and the leg bandage in particular is simply amazing–great detail, wonderful gruesome. The scratches are from Paper Doll Designs; the cheek bruise is from Kenzie. They may not be average fair for this outfit, but I love them.
The skin is from Eat Me as well–it’s the skin I demo’d the other day and finally got around to purchasing. It’s a bit darker than my usual skin tone, which is far more obvious when paired with clothes that aren’t white, but that makes it a good summer skin (not that I tan at all IRL, but in game I can pretend). The eyes are from Miau Haus, and their hand-drawn look and hazel coloring both fit the outfit perfectly. I was so glad to get the chance to wear them–I don’t have that often, but I love the eyes. ^_^

We’ve been having our first heat wave in real life, so I wanted a lighter outfit in SL. I’ve also never had the chance before to wear these shoes, from Shiny Things, so I wanted a girly blue dress to match— I chose this dress from the Miyoko outfit by Tweet. I had to mod the skirt prims shorter to get a better fit, and I also tinted the skirt a very, very pale gray to prevent WindLight from washing it out completely.
To keep the outfit light and fresh, I wore this hair by Kin (modded to make some of the bangs shorter so they wouldn’t hang into the eye) and just a few accessories: the laces on the shoes, with small flower ornaments; a simple silver necklace and delicate bracelet. The skin is an Another Skin mod by myself, this one with pale eyeshadow and pink lips.

Paper Couture’s Divinchi outfit works well for mixing and matching. I like the look of the shirt and pants with a different jacket layer corset, but I also like this look: combining the flowing shirt with an equally romantic skirt. The skirt, corset, and bra are all from the Divnichi outfit, and the bra is tinted a light gray to better match the dark black skirt. The skirt is from Material Squirrel and a wonderful separate. I wanted the rich bohemian flow and textures to speak for themselves, so I limited accessories to this romantic hair style by ETD (modded to cover my system ears and tinted to make it a richer red) and my favorite necklace from Paper Couture, modded as usual to remove the diamond.

Something a little different for today. This entire outfit was just an elaborate excuse to wear this hair, which I purchased after seeing it featured on Savior Hair. I have a bit of a weakness for odango–hair buns with ponytails. I edited the hair to cover my system ears, and wore my cat ears down to keep them from sliding into the buns. I also tinted the hair–the Mirada reds are darker and more purple than I like, so I bought the golds and tinted the orange color, instead. This won’t be an every day hairstyle for me, but that doesn’t stop me from loving it to pieces.
I paired the hair with a camisole (from the Big Mix set) and a jacket with gloves (from the Camerine set) from PixelDolls, and a skirt from Material Squirrel, lightly tinted. MS skirts are a bit too flexi, but they are invaluable seperates and work very well with PixelDoll clothes (which I often have a hard time matching to anything but more PD). The necklace is Boing Fromage, edited to make the cameo setting silver, and the hair rose is of course from Essentia. The skin is from Exotica–my old skin, which I used to wear all the time before finding Sin Skins. The eyes are from Extreme Vision, which I found after it was mentioned on SL Men. Extreme Vision eyes are overpriced, but the unnatural set is pretty good and carries more reasonable price tags.
Because I wear a collar, ears, tail, and whiskers, I often run out of attachment points. I’ve learned to attach all neck-up ornaments to my mouth (my free attachment point) and all necklaces to my spine (as my collar is a chest attachment), and then reposition carefully. I also keep two sets of each version of my tail: one that attaches to pelvis, and one that attaches to stomach. That way, I can use whichever one won’t override the various attachment points used for skirts.

PixelDolls has always been one of my favorite stores, ‘though I will admit I liked their precise, bright outfits from their old line more than the softer items they sell now. Anyway—as much as I try to mix up what I wear, I can’t help coming back to PD again and again. Here I’m wearing the Lucie dress, which has a simple one prim skirt and wonderful buckle detailing. To make it a bit more modest I wore it with tights, which were Easter freebies from G.L.A.M. The shoes are from Shiny Things, and I never seem to have enough chances to wear them so I was quite glad they matched this outfit.
As before, the hair is the Keri style from ETD with modded bangs—sometimes when I get a hair style perfectly adjusted to my taste I’m loathe to take it off. The necklace and ring are both favorites from Paper Couture, and the necklace has been modified to remove the oversized diamond.

In the game Second Life, I play the avatar Juushika Redgrave.
I’ve been around infrequently these last few days. My desktop is currently in storage, so I’m playing from my laptop—hardly ideal! I have no home or studio, so this photo was taken at the Ingenue store—because the coloring matched my shirt. I no longer have in-game income, so I’ve been pulling clothes from the bowels of my inventory. It’s proved to be quite fun, actually. This outfit arose from my desire for a warmer-weather casual look.

a most impressive/disturbing exhibit that spiralled up the entirety of the guggenheim new york. after the exploding sedans came an agonizing trail of tigers pierced with dozens of arrows. then came a trail of wolves climbing into the air before plunging lemming-like, over an imaginary precipice. next was a long winding diorama of grey clay peasants, beleaguered by harsh toil and armed soldiers, their bodies eventually loosening their clay skins to the wooden armatures within. finally, media images of atomic bomb explosions.
